The Journalists Association “Novomedia” 

"The transformation of media returns the transformation of nation"

 

The Novomedia Association is the all-Ukrainian non-governmental journalistic organization. It was founded in 2004 on the initiative of journalist Ruslan Kukharchuk. The Association unites Christian journalists and other creative stuff of different media in two common ways: spiritual unity and professional interests.

For today, Novomedia  Association  includes about 200 members from secular and Christian media and has representatives in the majority of regions of Ukraine. There are also members of the community in Russian Federation, USA and Canada.


Novomedia conducted Children’s Media Content Conference “Medialand”

On April, 23-24 Novomedia Association conducted an annual Children’s Media Content Conference “Medialand”. The young media workers as well as the adults attended the event. It is a reminder that “Medialand” presents media content territory that is safe and useful for children. On the event we paid attention to all kinds of children’s mass media. We talked with Semen Kremenyuk, a blogger and co-author of KEDRR.com Project about the safety on the Internet and the possibilities it provides.

YuliaRomanenko, a chief of disabled children’s department also offered Internet as a topic of her presentation. She focused on cyberbullying or aggression on the Internet. The parents and teachers also attended the track. Alexander Jusupov, a TV host and a correspondent of “Absatz” show on Novy Channel spoke about the pluses and possibilities of Internet.  He advised the young specialists to develop the YouTube channel and spoke about trends and possibilities for creating media content on the available platforms. In addition, he shared with the young participants his experiences regarding creating new media resources and quickened their interest in using all possibilities.

Inna Kozina, an illustrator of “Tropynka” Magazine and IrynaSavchenko, an on-line editor spoke about the children’s press in general,and how to create a particular edition. It turns to be that “Tropynka” Magazine has been published since 1990, issued 6 times a year, distributed all over the world, translated into several languages. The listeners of the seminar got to know what a scrupulous labor is involved in order to compose one page of the magazine.

One of the directions providing thematic information was TV production for kids. The team of TV Channel “Nadia” presented several children’s program, including “Lomaster” and “Malyuvaky” shows. They spoke about the creation process and the team. Of course, all the ideas, mentioned in the TV program later are discussed with the young viewers in the social networks of the resource. The peculiarity of these programs is to teach the kids something good while playing and doing some arts and crafts. Besides the team shared some pieces of advices how to work with kids while shooting a program, how to make a child feel comfortable, be natural, and not to be afraid of cameras.

Anton Bazelinsky, a screenwriter of cartoons and serials, documentary films and entertaining shows talked about the comedy genre and humor in videos.The participants discussed what kind of humor should be involved and what is unacceptable even in comedy shows.

The majority of the “Medialand” Conference time was dedicated to animated cartoons. Alexander Vlasenko from Association “Emmanuil”, CBN talked about creating kind and modern cartoons using examples of creating a character. OlehPedan, a multiplicator talked and showed how he creates puppet cartoons.

The team of the animated cartoons studio “Ukranimafilm” provided especially interesting information. They presented a new cartoon series. Eduard Kirich, a cartoonist told about the return of the former heroes, the Cossacks, while Eduard Akhramovych, the general producer told about promotion of the cartoon series and the future plans. One of the main authors, Anton Bazelinskiy, shared his experience regarding writing new scripts for new series.

We did not forget about the radio track. Tatyana Kalinichenko, a radio host on “Radio Maria” and editor of children’s programs talked about the way the radio programs should be like as well as what to do to make the radio programs competitive with TV and Internet. The speaker also revealed some secrets concerning preparation to a program, especially to the interview.
